Road transport transition: how to remove the remaining blockages?
The ecological transition (energy or agro-ecological transition, development issues, etc.) is a subject of public policies. They are complex, sometimes underpinned by blockages or misunderstandings. At IDDRI, we propose possible solutions based on science. We put them on the democratic agenda because they are aimed at political and economic decision-makers, as well as at civil society as a whole. In these podcasts, IDDRI research fellows present their thoughts to shed light on the debate.
Road transportation transition is the subject of our new episode.
Electric cars, agile and decarbonised solutions for deliveries, bicycles and public transport in cities: road transport is ready to make its transition. As the end of the sale of thermal cars approaches, Cap sur la transition looks today at the last obstacles to be removed. In a sector where many decarbonisation solutions have already been tested, documented and validated, the brakes that prevent a large-scale changeover still need to be removed. Industrial solutions, transformative business models, changes in practices, social acceptability supported by the public authorities… A IDDRI team is working on these subjects, finally giving you the keys to get out of the caricature targeting electric cars… Louis-Pierre Geffray answers Sophie Larmoyer’s questions.
